A Military Wedding in Kalamata & a Next-Day Photoshoot in Koroni | Dimitris & Elli

Dimitris and Elli’s wedding in Kalamata had two very different sides. The energy, laughter and traditions of a day spent surrounded by family and friends, followed by the quieter moments of their post-wedding photoshoot in Koroni a few days later.

From the very beginning, Dimitris’ friends made sure the morning would be anything but ordinary. There was plenty of teasing and laughter, including an unexpected dip in the pool, before he finally put on his white military uniform. Meanwhile, Elli was getting ready surrounded by her loved ones, in a gentler atmosphere filled with the small, personal moments that can easily go unnoticed in the excitement of a wedding day.

The military ceremony had a character of its own, with the traditional sword arch creating some of the most memorable images of the day. The celebration continued into the evening with dancing and fireworks, bringing the first part of their story to a lively close.

A Post-Wedding Photoshoot in Koroni

A few days later, we met again in Koroni.

This time, without the schedule of a wedding day, we had the freedom to slow down. From the narrow streets and old stone walls to the waterfront, we let the light and the atmosphere of the town guide our photographs.

What I particularly enjoy about post-wedding sessions is this change of pace. The excitement of the wedding day has settled, and there is time to create photographs without feeling that we need to rush or follow a particular plan.

In Koroni, the warm evening light, bougainvillea and simplicity of the coastal landscape gave us the setting for a series of portraits with a different feeling from those taken on their wedding day.

Two different days, each with its own character, coming together to tell Dimitris and Elli’s story.
