George and Isidora returned to Messinia for a summer wedding at Akrotiri Venue, overlooking the Messinian Gulf. Their day began with preparations at Cella Villa in Verga, before continuing to Akrotiri for the ceremony and an evening celebration by the sea.
What made the day especially memorable was its effortless atmosphere — warm Mediterranean light, the people closest to them gathered in one place, and a celebration that felt elegant yet completely relaxed.
Getting Ready at Cella Villa in Verga
The day began at Cella Villa, in the hills above Kalamata. With views stretching towards the Messinian Gulf, the villa offered a quiet setting for the preparations before everyone made their way to Akrotiri Venue.
Rather than over-directing these moments, I photographed the morning as it naturally unfolded — the anticipation, small details and spontaneous interactions that gradually set the rhythm for the day ahead.
A Wedding at Akrotiri Venue
Set along the coast just outside Kalamata, Akrotiri Venue brings together open views of the Messinian Gulf and the relaxed atmosphere of a summer celebration in southern Greece.
For George and Isidora, it became the setting for both the ceremony and reception. As the light softened towards sunset, the celebration moved naturally from the ceremony into dinner and, later, a lively evening with their family and friends.
Just Before Sunset
As the sun began to set over the Messinian Gulf, we stepped away for a few quiet moments by the sea. The softer light and open landscape around Akrotiri created the perfect setting for a short portrait session, without taking George and Isidora away from their celebration for too long.
A few photographs, a little space to slow down, and then it was time to return to their guests and let the evening begin.
And Then… the Party
As dinner came to an end, the atmosphere quickly changed. The music got louder, the dance floor filled, and the evening turned into exactly the kind of celebration George and Isidora had imagined.
From the first dances to the spontaneous moments that followed, there was very little reason to leave the dance floor — the perfect ending to a summer wedding at Akrotiri Venue.
