An intimate summer wedding between Costa Navarino and the historic Niokastro of Pylos.

The story

There is something special about a wedding day that moves through different landscapes, while still feeling completely connected from beginning to end.

The day began with the preparations at Costa Navarino, with the bride and groom getting ready separately in the calm surroundings of the resort. It is this balance of landscape, architecture and Mediterranean light that makes weddings at Costa Navarino so distinctive.

For the ceremony, everyone travelled to Pylos and the historic Niokastro, where the Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour stands within the old fortress walls.

The change of setting was remarkable. The contemporary elegance of Costa Navarino gave way to stone, old trees and centuries of history. As the bride made her way towards the church with her family, the setting became part of the story itself — intimate, authentic and unmistakably Messinian.

A ceremony inside the historic Niokastro of Pylos

The Orthodox ceremony took place inside the small historic church, surrounded by family and close friends.

I have always been drawn to the way light behaves in places like this. The darker interior of the church, the textures of the stone and the small gestures between the couple created photographs that feel very different from the brighter images earlier in the day.

After the ceremony, we stayed around Niokastro for a short portrait session. Rather than separating the couple from their surroundings, I wanted the architecture and landscape to remain present in the photographs — the monumental stone arches, the open views and the characteristic landscape of southern Messinia.

Those elements are part of what makes a destination wedding in Greece so distinctive.

The wedding reception at Costa Navarino

As daylight began to fade, the celebration returned to Costa Navarino.

The atmosphere changed once again. Candlelight, blue and white florals and the warm evening light gave the reception a more intimate character, before the night gradually turned into a celebration with sparklers, music and dancing.

For me, this is what made the day particularly beautiful to photograph: it wasn’t defined by a single location or a single visual idea.

It moved naturally between the refined surroundings of Costa Navarino and the historic character of Pylos, between quiet portraits and spontaneous moments, between Mediterranean daylight and the energy of the evening.

And together, all of those elements became one story.

Kind Words from Alexandros & Marina

“Antonis is an exceptional professional and a wonderful person, and we feel incredibly lucky that he was the one who photographed our wedding day!

From the very beginning, he was always open and willing to answer any questions we had, taking the time to talk with us and understand what suited us and what we truly wanted.

On our wedding day, which was naturally quite long and demanding, Antonis helped us feel relaxed while also making sure everything went as smoothly as possible.

And as for the final result, it is simply incredible! The photographs, the colours and the overall aesthetic are beautiful. Every time we look through our wedding photos, we become emotional and feel as though we are reliving our wedding day all over again.

Antonis, thank you so much!”
